Smith School MBA June Updates:
-
As part of the Venture for Canada (VFC) Fellowship Program, Smith School of Business and the Centre for Business Venturing invited students and recent graduates from across Canada for a three-week entrepreneurial training camp for the seventh consecutive year. At Queen's University, in-person sessions were held for the first time since 2019 in-person. Participants got the chance to expand their networks while participating in intense workshops given by Smith instructors and invited guest speakers to hone their entrepreneurial and leadership abilities. This year's training camp included an alumni summit for the first time, allowing former fellows to come full circle and revisit their roots.
-
MMIE'22 students Anthony Ighomuaye, Himmat Kaur, and Imane Boudaa, who are all PMP, PSM, and ITIL® certified, had the chance to participate in an international innovation exchange at WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business). Through this programme, students can live and study abroad, make friends all around the world, and get a global perspective that can enhance their professional prospects. The group worked with kids from all around the world, and they claim that the experience taught them how diversity provides innovation teams a creative edge. Added knowledge gained? "The academic smack." German students have a custom of knocking on their desks to express gratitude after lectures.
